About Atlas East
ATLAS East is a collaboration between the University of East Anglia and Norfolk NHS County Workforce Group. It aims to increase awareness of Assistive Technology provision across the East of England. ATLAS also links to workforce development and CPD/training provision for professionals wishing to increase their knowledge of the benefits and challenges of employing Assistive Technology.
The School of Allied Health Professions at the University of East Anglia (UEA), based in Norwich, has expertise spanning Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. We provide a multi-disciplinary perspective on the usage and effectiveness of assistive technologies, working with our colleagues in the field of assistive technology practice. Our research in this area includes the use of rich and multiple media with people with intellectual disability, sensory disabilities and long term and chronic illness. .
The Norfolk NHS County Workforce Group aims to provide
a coherent approach to designing and educating the NHS workforce to deliver
safe, effective and responsive services in line with NHS Norfolk’s and
NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney’s strategic plans. Our ultimate aim is to
improve the quality or healthcare across Norfolk and Waveney.
In researching the content of this web map we have recognised that
while there are many organisations across the East of England providing
services, there is no single central source of data which allows health
professionals or users to identify the range and type of services available
in the region.
The ATLAS website allows you to see the range and type of services at a glance. It also allows you to easily apply filters to the data on the map to select the type of Assistive Technology, the services and users catered for, and the type of services offered. Once you have applied filters, you will then be able to click on the organisations of interest and view their service details.
We also provide links to a variety of sources of training and development for healthcare professionals wishing to increase their skills and knowledge of Assessment, Follow-up and Support in using Assistive Technology.
